- Promoting research-based constitutionalism and constitutional governance
- Promoting democratic culture through creating platforms for discourse, debate and activism
- Promoting integrity of the democratic processes by advocating for effective policy, legal and institutional mechanisms
- Strengthening civil society and other social institutions through social justice campaigns
- Carrying out public interest litigation and legal representation of activists
- Setting up an Institute for International Studies in East Africa
