An opening thank-you to you, Dr Sarah, not only for inviting me, but a thank-you to you, and a congratulation to you and a commendation and a support, to you for the work that you do as an NGO and a guiding force in this great country. I wish to emphasise through these words that the greatest natural resource of a country is its civil society. What carried my country through its transition from its bloody past to its democratic present and aspiration was the strength of the civil society that had been built up over many, many years. Without it we would not have got over that bridge howsoever.
