Elog Creco Members Meeting 2024 Report.

The ELOG-CRECO joint programmatic meeting was held at the Hillpark Hotel on 31st January 2024. The first session was moderated by Susan Githu, CRECO's Financial Officer, she called for an opening prayer followed by a round of introductions. Following the introductions, Susan extended a welcome to Mulle Musau, the Head of Secretariat at ELOG, and Joshua Changwony, the Executive Director of CRECO, to deliver their opening remarks.

South Africa Election Observation Report Final

At the invitation of the Center for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, the East and Horn of Africa Observers Network (E-HORN) participated in the observation of South Africa's General Elections on May 29, 2024.

The technical team, consisting of two Short-Term Observers (STOs) from E-HORN, was deployed from May 27 to May 30, 2024, to observe all key election phases.

WEBINAR-African Elections

The year 2024 was widely regarded as an “elections year,” with a record number of elections scheduled globally. Over 90 national elections took place across the world, with Africa hosting a significant share—around 25% of these elections. In just over six months, the African continent witnessed elections in countries such as Senegal, Nigeria, South Africa, Chad, and Rwanda.

The webinar hosted by E-HORN and moderated by Ellen Dingani, Program Director for the Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN), included panelists the following Aisha Dabo (AfricTivistes)-Senegal, Ibrahim Faruk (YIAGA Africa)-Nigeria, Bonolo Makgale (Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria)-South Africa, and Anne Kathurima an elections expert from Kenya, each panelist covered their reginal area where the organization has been directly involved or observed.
